The Wisely Law Firm PLLC - Federal Defense Firm

Representing individuals in federal investigations, indictments, sentencing proceedings, and appeals in the United States District Courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Federal Drug Crimes

Federal drug prosecutions often involve mandatory minimum sentences, conspiracy allegations, wiretap evidence, confidential informants, and lengthy investigations by the DEA, FBI, or Homeland Security Investigations. Whether charged with conspiracy, possession with intent to distribute, or trafficking, every case requires a thorough analysis of the evidence, sentencing exposure, and available defenses.

Federal Firearms Charges

Federal firearms offenses frequently carry severe penalties and may involve allegations of unlawful possession, prohibited persons, drug trafficking, or crimes of violence. Attorney Vincent E. Wisely represents individuals charged under federal firearms statutes and carefully examines every aspect of the government's case, including search and seizure issues, constructive possession, and sentencing enhancements.

Federal Fraud & White Collar Defense

Federal fraud investigations can involve healthcare fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud, securities fraud, tax offenses, and other complex financial crimes. These investigations often begin long before charges are filed. Early legal representation can be critical in protecting your rights, responding to subpoenas, and developing an effective defense strategy.

Grand Jury Investigations

Receiving a target letter, subpoena, or grand jury summons does not necessarily mean charges will be filed—but it does mean you should obtain experienced legal counsel immediately. Attorney Vincent E. Wisely advises witnesses, subjects, and targets during federal investigations and works to protect clients before formal criminal charges are ever filed.

Federal Sentencing Advocacy

The sentencing phase is often the most important stage of a federal criminal case. Effective advocacy requires a detailed understanding of the United States Sentencing Guidelines, statutory sentencing factors, and persuasive mitigation. Attorney Vincent E. Wisely prepares comprehensive sentencing presentations designed to achieve the most favorable outcome permitted under the law.

Federal Criminal Appeals

A conviction does not necessarily end the case. Federal appeals require a thorough understanding of appellate procedure, preservation of error, standards of review, and persuasive legal writing. Attorney Vincent E. Wisely has represented clients before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and carefully evaluates every case for potential appellate issues.
